Justin Jones has always known that it was his calling to serve his community.
Although he began his career as a Southern Baptist minister, it wasn’t until law school that he realized he could do just as much good on this earth from the courtroom as he could from the pulpit.
For the last 15 years, Justin has brought that sense of compassion and thirst for justice to his advocacy for clients facing the greatest challenges of their lives.
Justin excelled on the nationally-recognized trial team at Cumberland, and he and his team swept every competition they joined.
After graduating, Justin began working for a small plaintiff’s firm representing coal miners and their families. Coming from a coal town, Justin understood the challenges that his clients were facing.
This early experience with plaintiff advocacy taught Justin to listen, to care, and above all, to fight relentlessly for his clients and to hold those responsible for their injuries to account.
Over the course of his career, Justin has successfully litigated wrongful death and personal injury claims across the legal spectrum, from medical malpractice to environmental torts. Through a fierce and unwavering commitment to his clients, he has recovered multimillion-dollar settlements and verdicts to help families recover from disaster.
From a daughter with pneumonia left to suffocate on a jail floor, to a father whose arms were severed by defective coal mining equipment, families come to Justin in the wake of the most devastating tragedies in their lives. His job is not just to learn the facts of their cases, but to build trust, sincerity, and a shared commitment to fight for justice.
Justin lives in Homewood, AL, with his wife, Megan, and their two precocious sons. He met Megan in law school, where she was his trial partner on Cumberland’s trial team—a partnership that set the foundation for both their legal careers and their life together.
As a husband and father, Justin understands the weight of protecting and providing for the people you love. That perspective fuels his relentless advocacy for families who have had everything upended by tragedy. When he’s not in the courtroom, he’s on the field coaching his boys’ Little League teams, embracing the everyday moments that make family life so meaningful.
