Supreme Court of Alabama Affirms Judgment in favor of James W. Ellison

A jury verdict obtained by Shay Samples in the amount of $625,000 was affirmed without opinion by the Alabama Supreme Court on November 21, 2008. This case was pending for 3 1/2 years, and was a medical malpractice case against Webb Sledge, MD, for the alledged wrongful death of Hixie Mae Ellis. Plantiff’s alledged negligent failure to diagnose and treat a urinary tract infection. Plantiff’s had previously settled and released Gadsden Regional Medical Center for $325,000.
