$3 Million Verdict Won for Twice-Over Lung Cancer Misdiagnosis Case

Hare, Wynn, Newell & Newton, LLP secured a $3 million verdict on behalf of a widow whose husband passed away after doctors failed to diagnose his lung cancer not once, but twice. Mr. Vernon Williams received a CT scan that showed lung abnormalities in 2008 but no further medical inquiry was conducted. Only two months later, a second CT scan showed abnormalities and the radiologist recommended a follow-up to test for cancer. However, Dr. Manuel Carcelen of Pulmonary Medicine Associates, P.C. largely ignored the radiologist and dismissed Williams without any further care. He passed away from lung cancer complications in 2011.
