Hare Wynn has swept Birmingham Magazine’s 2016 “People & Places” category of the annual “Best of Birmingham” reader’s poll.
Each year, Birmingham Magazine asks its readers to vote on the best of the best in the Magic City.
Readers selected Hare Wynn as “Best Law Firm” and Hare Wynn attorney Hughston Nichols as “Best Lawyer”.
Nichols joined Hare Wynn in 2006. He represents plaintiffs in matters involving personal injury, wrongful death, truck and automobile accidents, and breach of contract litigation. He has been involved in numerous successful cases, including obtaining a multi-million dollar settlement stemming from the death of a nine-year-old boy. In addition to representing individuals, Hughston also represents small businesses in contractual disputes.
Hughston takes great pride in his association with Hare Wynn. He believes that the combined experience and legal backgrounds of the firm’s attorneys enable Hare Wynn to provide clients with superior service, as evidenced by the Firm’s outstanding record of success. On a personal level, he believes that his commitment to his clients goes beyond the details of their particular case.
“Representing a client means more than a single experience,” he said. “Hard work and dedication to the client’s case are critically important. But so is communicating with the client during what can be a difficult and stressful process, making sure they have all of the information they need to feel they are being represented effectively.”
A graduate of the University of Alabama, Nichols received his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law. A campus leader as both an undergraduate and a law student, he has continued to develop those skills as a member of the Birmingham Bar Association’s Future Leaders Class of 2010, a member of the Alabama State Bar Leadership Forum Class 10, and has been recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers. Additionally, he currently serves as the Alabama State Bar Young Lawyers Section President.
In its second century of practice, Hare Wynn is one of the top class-action law firms in the country. Hare Wynn’s success has come as a result of the unique opportunity its attorneys have had to become both experienced and successful trial lawyers, as well as legal tacticians. Whether arguing to a jury in a rural county in Arkansas or to the United States Supreme Court, Hare Wynn’s lawyers have a proven track record of success for their clients.
Hare Wynn began in the late 1800s, and, through the firm’s founder, Francis Hare, was instrumental in making plaintiffs’ litigation affordable to those needing high quality representation in significant litigation. Built on a legacy of representing individuals, Hare Wynn continues to build on more than 100 years of successful trial experience in its representation of individuals, Fortune 500 companies, small business and governmental entities.
Most recently, the magnitude of the firm’s litigation success was recognized when Hare Wynn was identified as one of the top plaintiffs’ firms in the United States in being named to the National Law Journal’s Plaintiffs’ Hot List. The Journal honored Hare Wynn as one of 20 firms nationally “that are at the cutting edge of plaintiffs’ work – and giving the defense a run for their money.”
Winners of the Best of Birmingham reader’s poll will be recognized on Sept. 22 at The Club.
