National Law Journal Selects Hare Wynn as One of Top Plaintiffs’ Firms in United States
Hare Wynn Newell & Newton has been selected to The National Law Journal’s 2011 Plaintiffs’ Hot List. The prestigious award was presented to only 20 firms in the entire country for exceptional work in the preceding 12 months on behalf of clients who have sued for damages.
In order to be considered for this list, firms are required to provide extensive documentation and evidence regarding a year’s worth of representative cases, verdicts and settlements from June 2010 to June 2011. The National Law Journal reviews all of the submissions, conducts additional research and compiles their list of potential firms. Finally, the National Law Journal chooses 20 firms that are “at the cutting edge of plaintiffs’ work — and that are giving defense players a run for their money.”
In an era of vanishing jury trials, the firm was recognized for its continued success in achieving significant jury verdicts in cases around the country. In the last twelve months, Hare Wynn has obtained jury verdicts totaling more than $108 million for its clients in many different areas of our practice. In addition to these significant jury verdicts, Hare Wynn, as co-lead counsel, negotiated a $750 Million settlement against Bayer Crop Science in 2011.
“We are honored to be included in The National Law Journal’s latest selection of the country’s most accomplished plaintiffs’ firms,” states Leon Ashford, Managing Partner. “This recognition is a testament to all of our trial lawyers and professional staff whose exemplary work earns substantial verdicts and settlements for our clients each year. Hare Wynn is committed to the principle that the work we do helps people move on with their lives and makes the world a better place.”
“As pleased as we are that these great accomplishments for our clients have received national recognition, we would be remiss not to point out that each and every one of the cases was referred to us by a lawyer who has worked with our firm in the past. Referring lawyers represent an essential core component of our law firm’s practice and we are committed to strengthening our relationship with dear friends and colleagues. While we continue to focus on handling cases in Alabama and Arkansas, we are currently involved in major litigation in Kentucky, Texas and California, as well as a number of commercial airplane crashes in Eastern Europe and Africa.”
Hare, Wynn, Newell & Newton entered its second century of unprecedented service in 1995, continuing its long-standing mission to represent and protect the rights of all citizens with the same degree of service previously available only to the corporate community. The firm is still guided by the words of the late Mr. Francis H. Hare, Sr. who said, “The law is at its finest when it protects the weak. It certainly does not exist to protect only the strong.” Our lawyers share a vision of the law as a higher calling, and justice as a system which serves to protect all people equally.
