Hare, Wynn, Newell & Newton has been named by The National Law Journal as one of the top 50 law firms in the country in the publication’s inaugural America’s Elite Trial Lawyers list. The list recognized firms doing the most creative and substantial work on the plaintiff’s side.
“It certainly is unique and quite an honor to have a firm right here receive this recognition,” said Managing Partner, Matt Minner.
According to The National Law Journal, selected firms “pulled in big victories in complex cases that have a wide impact on the law and legal business.” The top 50 firms from across the country were named in what editors termed as “fierce” competition. “But we are confident that our selections represent those law firms that are on the cutting edge of plaintiffs’ side work in the United States and that have achieved exemplary results for their clients,” stated Vice President and Editor in Chiefs David Brown and Beth Frerking. Firms were evaluated on a number of criteria including significant wins in the last year as well as having an impressive track record of wins within the past three to five years.
Hare Wynn is known for its trial work having been recognized for obtaining one of the top 100 verdicts in America in 3 of the last 4 years. The firm is often engaged in high stakes litigation on behalf of businesses and governmental entities. Hare Wynn recently concluded a hard fought action on behalf of the Commonwealth of Kentucky against pharmaceutical giant Merck involving false and misleading marketing of the pain killer drug Vioxx to Kentucky consumers and physicians. In working with the Office of the Attorney General, $25,000,000 was recovered on behalf of the Commonwealth.
The firm’s storied history also includes the representation of individuals ranging from farmers, educators and servicemen to legendary coaches and the families of Paul “Bear” Bryant and Adolph Rupp.
“We are committed to remaining on the cutting edge of plaintiff’s work and continuing to aggressively pursue the interests of the business, governmental and individual clients we are honored to represent,” said Minner.
