IT is “IT”
Hare Wynn has one of the most advanced information and technology departments in the country as evidenced by the staggering volume of processed documents in the Bayer Cropscience rice case.
“We seamlessly supported the processing and searching of millions of pages of production documents from Bayer in the discovery stage of the litigation,” says Brad Bailey, Hare Wynn’s ISD Director. “In the next phase, we essentially became a claims processing department for more than 2,500 clients. This work ranged from obtaining and processing hundreds of thousands of pages of plaintiff settlement sheets, seed invoices and a host of other crucial documentation. We also sent more than 21,000 letters to farmers in Arkansas over the course of this case.”
The trial prep and presentation team was instrumental in Hare Wynn’s $48 million jury verdict in Lonoke County in April, 2010. Phillip Carter and Dax Whitfield flawlessly handled complex trial presentations, including depositions excerpts, video inserts and all of the technical operations during the entire course of the proceedings.
Even though a settlement has been reached, the task is not completed for The Hare Wynn Information Technology Department. Brad Bailey, Darcy Glasgow, Dax Whitfield and Zondra Bess continue the daily communication process with our clients as the claims filing process now gets underway.
“Over the past 4 years, our department has grown to know our rice farmers through many phone conversations, and we’re so excited that all of their blood, sweat and tears can finally be rewarded,” states Darcy Glasgow, a litigation support specialist for Hare Wynn. “We know they have suffered great loss because of this contamination and that has made us work very hard to get their claim processed accurately and quickly. As I told a farmer the other day, we hope when all this is done, we get a chance to meet them and give them big hugs!”
