One Dead in Three-Vehicle Collision on US 431

A three-vehicle collision on US 431 in Chambers County earlier this week claimed the life of one person. The fatal incident occurred in the afternoon on Wednesday, September 29. It was reported to the authorities at around 4:30 p.m.

According to the details shared by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the precise location of the collision on US 431 was near mile marker 175. One of the vehicles involved in the wreck was a Honda Accord. Its driver was Micah L. Farr, 27, of Roanoke.

Farr was traveling along the U.S. 431 when his vehicle crossed the centerline. The Accord then came into the path of the oncoming traffic. The Accord collided head-on with a Toyota Tacoma and then hit a Nissan Altima.

Farr suffered critical injuries in the twin collisions. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time the crash occurred. The paramedics and first responders arrived on the scene following crash reports. They attempted to revive Farr but failed to do so. He was pronounced deceased at the location of the accident.

The Toyota Tacoma driver was Jason Banks, 49, of Auburn. Kim N. Buchanan, 45, was driving the Nissan Altima involved in the secondary collision. Both Banks and Buchanan were also wearing seatbelts when the accident took place. It isn’t clear whether the other drivers suffered any injuries, and if so, what is the nature and severity of these injuries.

ALEA continues to investigate the incident. The agency is trying to determine what caused Farr to go over the centerline and into the oncoming lane. Alcohol, drugs, or speeding have not yet been ruled out as contributing factors.

In crashes like these, victims can seek compensation from an at-fault driver. An Alabama car accident lawyer can help the victims recover a fair amount of damages for their crash-related losses.
