Truck Accident on Alabama Highway 157 Kills One
A truck accident that took place on the Alabama Highway 157 resulted in the death of one person. The accident took place late on Tuesday.
According to the details shared by the authorities, a truck accident was reported at around 7 p.m. The crash involved a gallon fuel tanker and a passenger vehicle. The two came into a collision at the intersection of the Alabama Highways 157 and 33. The tanker was carrying a large amount of fuel at the time of the crash.
As a result of the collision, the tanker overturned. This led to the death of the tanker driver who was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. Fuel from the overturned tanker continued to leak and spill into the surrounding areas, including the nearby ditches. A Hazmat team arrived on the scene of the accident to contain the leakage and take care of the potential hazards caused by it.
The Hazmat team was accompanied by firefighters and other personnel to handle any possible accidents that the fuel spill may cause.
Traffic in both the southbound and northbound lanes of Alabama 157 was shut down in the wake of the crash. The traffic remained closed as of 11 p.m. on Tuesday while the Hazmat team and others continued to work on the site of the crash.
