Alabama High School Teacher Killed in Truck Crash

A high school teacher from Citronelle, Alabama died in a truck crash that took place this Sunday. The accident that resulted in the death took place on the Lott Road.

Geoffrey Dylan Turner, 26, was driving a Toyota Tundra when it ran into an accident. Turner was a teacher at Citronelle High School and taught mathematics. The accident took place at around 8 a.m.

According to the Alabama State Troopers, Turner was driving northwards on the Lott Road and was close to the Gulfcrest Road at the time of accident. For some reason yet unknown to the authorities, Turner’s truck veered off the road and hit a tree. He also had another passenger in the vehicle at the time. As the truck hit the tree, Turner was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt. He was later pronounced dead at the site of the accident.

The other passenger in the vehicle also sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted for treatment to the University Hospital. The identity of the other passenger is still unknown as the police continue to investigate the crash.

In the wake of the crash, condolences have poured in from friends, family and colleagues for the deceased teacher. Dylan Turner is remembered by the students at the Citronelle High School as someone with a great sense of humor who made learning an enjoying experience.

Colleagues and friends inside and outside the school remember Turner as a person who was outgoing and fun, indulging a passion for hunting and Alabama football. A formal statement from the school’s principal, Randy Campbell, was also posted to Facebook following the crash. In the statement, Campbell says that Mr. Turner was a valuable member of the school who will be deeply missed.
