Attorney Jamie Moncus Elected to American Association for Justice Board of Governors for New Lawyers Division
The Mission of AAJ is to promote a fair and effective justice system—and to support the work of attorneys in their efforts to ensure that any person who is injured by the misconduct or negligence of others can obtain justice in America’s courtrooms, even when taking on the most powerful interests. AAJ is the world’s largest trial bar, providing trial attorneys with information, professional support and a nationwide network that enables them to most effectively and expertly represent clients.
Mr. Moncus joined Hare, Wynn, Newell & Newton in 2003, and has devoted his practice to representing the rights of individuals and small businesses in civil litigation. Jamie’s trial practice has been focused in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, breach of contract, medical malpractice, product liability, class actions, as well as qui tam litigation under the Federal False Claims Act. In his first few years at Hare Wynn, Jamie tried several jury cases to verdict, obtaining favorable results for his clients in a variety of matters. He has also argued countless motions and handled appeals before a variety of courts, from oral argument before the federal court for the Southern District of New York, to oral argument before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
“I am excited for the opportunity to move AAJ’s mission forward by promoting a fair and just legal system we can all be proud of,” said Moncus, who received his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School. “It is truly a privilege to help foster these principles through my work with people in the community, and I look forward to continuing this effort as part of AAJ’s leadership.”
Members of the New Lawyers Division have practiced law for fewer than ten years. New Lawyers Division Board of Governors work with AAJ to encourage continuing education, scholarships, and increased proficiency by developing and advancing affordable programs, materials, services, and products specifically designated to assist and benefit New Lawyers. The Division provides a networking system with experienced attorneys and helps ensure that the next generation of AAJ members and their leadership are dedicated and reflect the diversity of American society.
