Hughston joined Hare Wynn in 2006 and was named partner in 2014.  He represents plaintiffs in matters involving personal injury, wrongful death, truck and automobile accidents, and breach of contract litigation.  He has been involved in numerous successful cases, including obtaining a multi-million dollar settlement stemming from the death of a nine-year-old boy.  In addition to representing individuals, Hughston also represents small businesses in contractual disputes.

Mr. Nichols takes great pride in his association with Hare Wynn. He believes that the combined experience and legal backgrounds of the firm’s attorneys enable Hare Wynn to provide clients with superior service, as evidenced by the Firm’s outstanding record of success.  On a personal level, he believes that his commitment to his clients goes beyond the details of their particular case.

“Representing a client means more than a single experience,” Hughston says. “Hard work and dedication to the client’s case are critically important.  But so is communicating with the client during what can be a difficult and stressful process, making sure they have all of the information they need to feel they are being represented effectively.”

A graduate of the University of Alabama, Mr. Nichols received his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law. A campus leader as both an undergraduate and a law student, he has continued to develop those skills as a member of the Birmingham Bar Association’s Future Leaders Class of 2010, a member of the Alabama State bar Leadership Forum Class 10, and has been recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers. Additionally, he currently serves as the Alabama State Bar Young Lawyers Section President.

Hughston was recently named Birmingham’s Best Attorney by Birmingham Magazine and was recognized as one of the Birmingham Business Journal’s Rising Stars of Law.

Outside of work, Hughston enjoys spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing and coaching youth baseball.  He and his wife have two sons and are active members of Covenant Presbyterian Church.
