Hare, Wynn, Newell & Newton Attorneys obtain a $500,000 jury verdict against insurance company
Hare, Wynn attorneys Shay Samples and Hughston Nichols obtained a $500,000 jury verdict on behalf of a 24 year old young lady injured in a motor vehicle accident while returning home from Auburn University to visit her family. On September 24, 2004, she was a passenger in a vehicle that was struck after two vehicles traveling in the opposite direction collided resulting in a catastrophic wreck.
The plaintiff was life flighted to UAB Hospital where she remained for several weeks. Miraculously, she survived and after months of grueling rehabilitation, was able to complete her studies. Unfortunately, she suffered a traumatic brain injury and foot drop.
The defendant was the Uninsured/Underinsured Motorists carrier who had disagreed as to the extent of the plaintiff's injuries and remained unwilling to fairly compensate the plaintiff throughout the entire litigation. The case was tried in front of Judge Joseph Boohaker in Jefferson County.
