Jim Pratt Appointed as Jefferson County Mediator
Hare Wynn’s Jim Pratt, President of the Alabama State Bar, has been appointed to help mediate a settlement in a 37-year-old lawsuit involving unfair hiring practices by various governments in Jefferson County.
U.S. District Judge Lynwood Smith appointed Pratt, who will provide free mediation services in a case described by Judge Smith as perhaps ''the oldest governmental, systematic discrimination litigation'' in the nation.
