Brian M. Vines
Brian was admitted to the Alabama bar in 2007 and since then has represented individuals, small businesses, states, and Fortune 100 companies in a broad range of litigation. Brian joined the firm in 2011 after working for two years at one of the largest law firms in the Southeast.
Brian graduated from Auburn University summa cum laude with a degree in Civil Engineering. While at Auburn, he was involved in numerous campus activities and was selected as a member of Spade Honorary.
After working in San Francisco as an engineer for one of the world’s largest oil companies, he attended the University of Virginia School of Law. At Virginia, Brian served on the Managing Board of the Virginia Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif, an honor reserved for those who graduate in the top ten percent of their class. Prior to entering private practice, Brian served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable William H. Pryor Jr. on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Brian’s practice has ranged from representing individuals and local businesses in Alabama State Court to representing the State of Alabama in the Federal Courts of Appeals in Virginia. Brian has represented Plaintiffs in a broad range of matters including copyright and trademark disputes, commercial disputes, and class actions. Brian was intimately involved in a class action that resulted in a $19 million settlement for the plaintiffs. In a commercial dispute, Brian secured a judgment of nearly $500,000 in favor of his client without the need of a trial.
Besides the practice of law, Brian enjoys spending time with his family. Brian and his wife, Sarah Beth, are active members of Covenant Presbyterian Church and are the proud parents of two small boys.
